There’s no “one fits all” when it comes to morning routines. But setting yourself up to have heathy and productive day means you need to get up feeling right and you need to sleep right.
The amount of sleep you need depends on your age group, but the important thing is to get to bed early enough to allow you to get up ready to enjoy your morning.
There’s only one morning per day! You just get one shot at making it a great one.
Tips on creating the best morning routine
When you’re deciding what routine to create for yourself keep it short and keep it simple.
In the beginning you don’t have to commit to a very early morning time slot to start your healthy routines.
In fact many powerful additions to your early mornings like journaling can be seamlessly done when taking your coffee or eating breakfast.
The best routines will include obvious “must does” and things that you love doing.
Now because the word routine can be associated with repetition and boredom we need be sure that’s not where we’re going.
That’s why we need to make it enjoyable with elements that are rich in things we enjoy doing making us eager to get up and get started.
Turning A Morning Routine into a Morning Ritual
Once we’ve created our healthy morning routine then following along with it should be easy enough shouldn’t it?
Well it is easy, but sticking to it is maybe the hardest part. It’s easy to get pushed off track, and that’s normal.
Life for most of us is a balancing act where time seems to be pressuring us all day long.
I’m not going to lie, taking control of time and creating space in your daily schedule for a positive morning routine isn’t easy but it’s so worthwhile.

1. start your new day early
Getting up early can be tough, especially if you’re not used to it.
But getting up in a timely manner and having a daily routine for healthy body and mind is a morning routine key to a successful day.
There are plenty of great reasons to make the effort. Enjoying the silence or watching the sun-rise for example.
When was the last time you saw a sun-rise ?
Getting up early gives you a chance to start your day slowly and calmly.
You can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea without rushing, and you can ease into your day without feeling like you’re already behind.
Sleeping well and a bright and early start to the day could even give you the time to get an energising light workout in before the rest of the world is even awake.
If you’re not an early morning workout person then rising early gives you some quiet time to yourself before the craziness of the day begins.
A brilliant idea when it’s quiet is to organise your thoughts early on and perhaps write them out in your daily journal.
2. Get hydrated early
Hydrating yourself fast when you get up in the morning is vital to waking up your metabolism.
When you sleep even if you don’t notice it your body loses water through sweat and respiration.
Drinking a glass of water first thing as part of your morning daily routine routine helps to replenish the water your body has lost overnight and jump starts your metabolism.
So instead of reaching for a cup of coffee straight away in the morning reach for a pure refreshing glass of water.
Your body will thank you for it.
3. A Little Light Exercise
I know it can be difficult to find the motivation to include exercise in your morning routine, however if you can then there are many good reasons to make morning exercise a part of your daily routine, even if its a 10min walk to start your morning!
For one thing, it can help to increase your energy levels for the rest of the day.
Morning exercisers most often report feeling more alert and productive throughout the day.
Exercising in can definitely help to improve your mood and if you have a tough day ahead exercising can reduce stress levels.
If you do struggle to get out of bed in the morning, try setting your alarm just a few minutes earlier and use that time to do some gentle neck and shoulder stretches.
You’ll be surprised at how much better you feel after just adding a couple of minutes of simple stretching to your morning routine.
4. Eat a healthy breakfast
We’ve all been there: you wake up late, and there’s no time for breakfast.
So you decide to skip it and head out the door. But by mid-morning, you’re feeling sluggish and unproductive.
